PCT 22' Strava journal - Day 28
Palmdale - Bouquet Canyon (Mile 444 - 465)
It's hard to describe how determined I feel on trail. I started this adventure with little expectations, knowing that there was a possibility that trail life would not be for me. However, here we are day 28 and still very happy to hike on.
Today we leave Palmdale early in the morning, we book an uber back to trail and start hiking through some creepy tunnels towards Vasquez Rocks. Vasquez Rocks National Area Park is located in northern Los Angeles and is known for its spectacular rock formations. The place has been used as film set for Planet of the Apes and Star Trek.
We cannot resist climbing the rocks and we spot a film crew recording on the other side. We hike past the film set to the small town called Aqua Duce where we stop for a burger and union rings. I buy a crazy expensive water bottle to increase my water capacity to 5 liters. Not far after Aqua Duce we get a free soda before we start climbing. We hike all the way over the mountain and are rewarded by views over Lake Hughes.
